I also absolutely love airships. I can never find enough of them on DA, though. I depresses me.

Anyways... Great work! I had no idea graphite could do those kinds of things. Man, and here I am, attempting to pull that kind stuff of with a regular pencil. *sigh*

I like the docking bay; it gives you a sense of scale. I mean, that airship is ENORMOUS. *grin*

Oh, right, and I :+fav: this, too!

This is incredible.

I love airships! :D
I've tried and tried designing some of my own and I always seem to have such a hard time with it, I wish I had half the talent you did. I guess it's all just a matter of practice and observation... I don't have much problem doing smaller planes and stuff, it's big ships like this I wish I could do well.
This makes mine look like kindergarten crayon drawings. XD
Lovely work, great details. Definite :+fav: !

Very stunning detail. You realy have a good hand and feeling to ad interesting details to your work.. and even without detail I think your work would look still stunning.
How long you need for that picture ?

Amazing. What did the process of this piece look like? I'd especially like to know how you created the structure and how you used the lines.

I'm thinking of training more on constructions and I need some tips.

P.S. How do you work the lines? Where do you thicken them for example? Just a lazy question :]

What do the funny symbols on the side of the ship mean?

:iconamarynceus:

They're things like registry numbers and the name of the shipping company that this pirate ship is masquerading as.

Thanks for the fave!

 I'm pretty sure I got rushed when I finished this one -- it looks rough to me too.

There'll be a revised version soon though with more detail -- I took this into Painter recently and did all sorts of things to it. :)

I can just keep looking at your art all day without getting bored

I love your use of shades--really looks like some kind of metal material. I like how you didn't make it all brand new and shiny, but I can see that it has a few scratches and there--looks used quite a lot. :D

And that's a lot of weapons!

Thanks!

Yeah, she is a bit overgunned, isn't she! They're mostly small guns though, and she probably wouldn't cruise for more than a week at a time or so, so I think it could be workable. Certainly not much room for cargo and stores, that's for sure.

The Black Pearl can kiss this thing's arse... if it can even get that high. ^^;
It's very neat, definitely carries than unexplainable "lol zomg pirates" feeling to it.

Thank you ;) i think it's the mismatched armament and general scruffiness that lends the "piratey" feel to it.

Hmm... it's been a long time, but I'd say probably two full days -- so somewhere between 16 and 24 hours in total. Possibly a little less, I can't recall very well that far back!
