Description
Crit, crit, crit!
Quite a bit of background work from the last WIP, although a lot of it isn't very obvious necessarily. Very little foreground work.
Mainly I would like to know if the depth still seems wonky even with more figures in the background -- I can't decide. I'd love to add a set of middleground figures but as is clear to the eye, I don't have any room really. The structure of the common room isn't helping me, as a standing figure on the floor comes to just under the foreground railing, so most nearby seated patrons at tables are hidden from view. Rgh.
Let this be a lesson to you (and me!!) of the dangers of not setting up an interior space properly for pictorial purposes.
Thank you , , for your helpful comments on the last version. I've tried to address all of the issues raised (except the braids which I pick at again and anon and remain mostly undone).
Things that I know are wrong right now -- the staircase is still being hammered out, the foreground left trio is very unfinished, still some issues with the barmaid's face, scruffy dude at right still has a wonky hand, Erin (the woman with the ponytail and sword) looks funny because I'm still working on repainting her face and neck.
Everything else is open season. I appreciate and am very grateful for your feedback! Now, kill!
Painter IX.5, Wacom, mostly cover pencil, smooth and wet gouache and blender brushes.
Ye gods, I suspect I'm near the 50 hour mark on this one. 'Twould only be 30 or so if I only counted the work that hasn't been painted over in the process...
