Concept doodle of a skyship at a ground-based facility.
Although all skyships need to rest periodically at sea level to keep their lift cores from degrading, inland operations can require docking for lesser maintenance, and thus most are built to land on level, regular surfaces without incurring fatal strain to their structures.
I didn't consider whilst doodling, and don't want to consider too hard now, the engineering of the landing pads; a 15,000 tonne battleship puts a huge loading on the ground. Perhaps sand or dirt might be best; I'll have to think about it more later.

Fine, soft sand will do probably. They'll need to go over it with some sort of harrows to keep it from tampering.
